ATH graduated with a Masters in Theology from the University of Oxford while attending drawing classes at the Ruskin School of Art.
She moved into archaeology and gained recognition for her drawing skills on a voluntary dig. She taught herself technical hand-drawing and achieved full time work as an Illustrator via her portfolio and published work. She continued to work as an Archaeological Illustrator for nine years in the UK and France.
Hemingway then moved to rural South Africa where she also exhibited in several galleries and a museum. Her work features in private collections in Australia, Canada, Croatia, Dubai, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Romania, South Africa, the UK and the USA.
